Unannounced Sony Xperia M5 and near bezel-less Xperia C5 Ultra smile for the camera!

The Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is an unannounced Android smartphone that's expected to be officially unveiled next week, on August 3. Until then, though, we can already take a good look at the handset, thanks to numerous leaked photos revealed by Russian website Hi-tech@mail.ru.

The C5 Ultra has been photographed alongside the Xperia M5, another unannounced handset that Sony should showcase on August 3.

Sporting a 6-inch 1080p display, the Xperia C5 Ultra has very thin bezels (0.8 mm) on its left and right sides, this making it look quite attractive. The handset runs Android Lollipop, and should be powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. Reportedly, the new smartphone comes with 13 MP rear and front cameras, both offering LED flashes. Other features include 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable internal memory, and a 2930 mAh battery. The C5 Ultra might cost around $350. 

The Xperia M5 is smaller than the C5 Ultra, as it sports a 5-inch 1080p display. The M5 kind of resembles the Xperia Z3+, and will be dust- and water-resistant (IP68-certified). Apparently powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, the Xperia M5 seemingly features 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable internal memory, a 2600 mAh battery, and a 13 MP front-facing camera. The highlight feature of the M5 should be its 21 MP rear camera, which comes with Sony's IMX230 sensor, 5x digital zoom "with no perceptible loss in quality", fast auto focus (0.2 seconds), and 4K video recording. It looks like the Xperia M5 will be the handset capable of taking "split-second photos" that Sony recently teased. The smartphone could cost around $400.

Sony just teased on Twitter a new smartphone announcements that will take place early next week, on August 3. Judging from the teaser in question, the highlight of the device will be its camera, which will reportedly be able to take "split-second photos". An image is accompanying the teaser in question, showing us the compelling moment a water drop bounces off from a liquid surface.

Of course, we have suspicions about the device that might make the rounds on August 3. That's the Sony Xperia C5, the specs and possible real-life pics of which already leaked. Reportedly, it will boast a 64-bit octa-core chipset (probably a MediaTek one), a 1080p display with a 5.5-inch diagonal, 2GB of RAM, and most importantly, a 13MP rear camera. 

Here's to hoping it will feature the Sony IMX230 sensor, which is already on board the Motorola Moto X Style (Pure Edition). At the front, we will also have an LED flash that will aid selfie lovers low-light auto-portrait endeavors.

Sony Xperia C5 Ultra manual confirms bezel-free display

The manual of the unannounced Sony Xperia C5 Ultra made the rounds online, thus revealing a number of details about the upcoming mid-ranger. Previously known as Sony Lavender, the handset is expected to make its debut in August with the model numbers E5553.

Unsurprisingly, the manual of Xperia C5 Ultra reveals a bezel-free display. The latter falls right inline with previously leaked live photos of the smartphone.

All the controls and external hardware features of the handset are also showcased. They include a camera with LED flash and loudspeaker on the front, as well as a dedicated camera button, microSD card slot, and nano SIM card slot on its side. The volume rocker on the handset can also be used as a camera zoom button.

Rumored Sony Xperia C5 Ultra specs include a MediaTek MT6752 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 13MP main camera, and 5MP front-facing unit. The display will be a 5.5” 1080p unit.
