Check out the Sony Xperia Z5; three models, including an Xperia Z5 Premium, to be unveiled next week? (UPDATE)

Sony is going to take the wraps off of three new handsets on Wednesday. The Sony Xperia Z5 will feature a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact will have a smaller 4.6-inch display with a 720 x 1280 HD resolution. And the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is also expected to be made official during the event. This variant will include a 5.5-inch, 4K resolution screen with a pixel density between 801-805ppi. It also will be equipped with a 23MP rear camera that can take 4K videos.

Our source also sent us a screenshot of the Sony Xperia Z5. In the background you can see two other Xperia Z5 units in different colors.  The next Sony flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC, carrying an octa-core 2.0GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of internal storage. A 23MP camera adorns the back of the device, while selfies and video chats are handled by the 8MP front-facing camera. The Xperia Z5, as well as the other two models, will feature a fingerprint scanner on the side of the phone, which explains why the power button and volume rockers are positioned so far down the right side on all three models.

This next week is going to a busy one with Sony's event taking place on the same day that Huawei will also announce some new handsets, including the Huawei Mate S. The IFA show starts in Berlin on September 4th. Keep it here for all of the new product releases and news that you want to read about.
